This band from Seattle, Washington, has never been to Belgium. After GARF, it’s clear they’ll never return, as they’ll be shutting down. So you know what you have to do. We’re happy to offer you such a sensation because the original remains in our DNA, even if it’s becoming increasingly difficult to attract this type of band. Anyway, Q5 is worth it. In 1984, Q5 burst onto the scene without warning with a stratospheric album: “Steel The Light.” Perhaps the hard rock album of the year, along with “The Warning” by Queensryche (a Seattle band too!). Melodic as can be, ethereal, and captivating, with either long, captivating tracks or short, incendiary pieces, “Steel The Light” seems miraculous. A little too much. “When the Mirror Cracks,” the following year, is solid, but nothing more.
Floyd Rose, the impeccable guitarist, leaves to create his own system, and singer Jonathan Scott K. reappears in another project. Q5’s return after several decades is unexpected. Don’t miss it!
